KOYO shares new single and music video – watch “Life’s A Pill”

1 min read

Emerging Long Island band Koyo is set to release their debut album, “Would You Miss It?“, on September 29th through Pure Noise Records. The album is a mix of punk, hardcore, and emo genres and aims to resonate with audiences across generations. It has already received favorable reviews from notable platforms like Stereogum, BrooklynVegan, Uproxx, and Revolver. Today the band has released a new single, “Life’s A Pill,” along with an accompanying music video. This single follows previously released tracks “Message Like A Bomb,” “Anthem,” and “You’re On The List (Minus One).”

The vocalist, Joey Chiaramonte, shared that “Life’s A Pill” is a personal song, penned during the emotional turmoil he faced due to the passing of a family member while he was touring. The music video aims for abstract, visual storytelling, rather than a conventional narrative.

The band includes members from Typecaste, Hangman, and Rain of Salvation and blends various influences, such as Taking Back Sunday and Silent Majority, into their music. The album features guest appearances by Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw, Vinnie Caruana of The Movielife, and Anthony DiDio of Vein.FM.

Preorders for the album are currently available. Koyo also has upcoming shows scheduled, starting with a performance in New York on September 15th and spanning various locations until December 10th, including tours with other bands like Thursday, Superheaven, Stick To Your Guns, and End It.

Formed in 2020, Koyo has released several EPs and is composed of five childhood friends: Joseph Chiaramonte, Harold Griffin, TJ Rotolico, Stephen Spanos, and Salvatore Argento. The band has put meticulous work into the upcoming album, with some songs written over a long span of time, aiming for a genuine representation of their collective experiences and emotions.
