Mellow rocker Quentin Sauvé gearing up for a European run with BRUTUS, new video available

2 mins read

Quentin Sauvé has recently published a music video for his latest single, “Reflections,” which is the third track from his upcoming album “Enjoy the View.” The album is set to release on March 31st, and it is a collaborative effort between Hummus Records, Luik Music, and Bright Colors (new project from Birds in Row). The artist is touring with the Belgian band Brutus in March (tour dates below).

“Almost all the first words of this new LP Enjoy The View came into my mind when I was on tour, in the van, looking at landscapes scrolling away through the window.” – says Quentin.

“I was very tired and sometimes tours seemed very very long. In the meantime I was feeling very nostalgic, thinking about my first tours with my old bands, and it felt like it was yesterday. At some point my eyes stopped on a reflection of my face on the window and I saw that I had a lot of gray hair already, I felt old and thought « ok here I am… already fading away ». This song is about being lost in the past and losing passion. I tried to turn it into something hopeful in the video, showing very simple moments of the recording session, showing that I’m still passionate about composing, creating, like I always was, and like I hope I’ll always be.
This video was shot with an old analog camera (16mm film) by my friend Sofian Hamadaïne-Guest, during the recording of the album at Studio Black Box France, in May 2021.”

Pre-order “Enjoy the View” by Quentin Sauvé via Bandcamp:

Influenced for his band Birds in Row by Noise & Hardcore bands like Refused & Converge, Quentin Sauvé decided for his solo project to lower the volume with intimate indie folk compositions between artists like Bon Iver, Half Moon Run, Grizzly Bear or Big Thief and the solo efforts of artists with a more heavy background like Louis Jucker (Coilguns), Dallas Green (City and Colour) of Alexisonfire, Jonah Matranga (Far) or David Bazan (Pedro the Lion).

Hyperactive since his first steps into music at a very young age, he’s always been a defender of the DIY rock scene as he encompasses all sorts of influences. Coming out of an intense period that saw the consecration of Birds In Row, his punk-hardcore band in which he plays the bass, he unveiled, in 2019, “Whatever It Takes”, his debut solo album and most personal work.

Adorned with more elaborate arrangements (percussive components, layers of vocal harmonies…), Quentin Sauvé’s guitar/voice proposal remains above all refined, intimate and sincere. He keeps on diving deeper while expanding his sonic palette with this second LP, scheduled for release in spring 2023.
