Renowned punk/hardcore band With Honor is back with a bang, unveiling their captivating music video for “The Weight”. This electrifying track is the fourth single from their eagerly awaited album, “Boundless“, slated for release on September 8th via Pure Noise Records.
Singer Todd Mackey portrays the song’s essence beautifully, expressing that “‘The Weight’ is a love anthem. The beauty of life lies in sharing every moment with the one you cherish.” Jeff Aust, the band’s guitarist, shared insights into the song’s creation, “Creating ‘The Weight’ was a seamless journey; the music erupted with vigor. The video pays tribute to nature, reminiscent of the ’90s alternative videos, capturing the magic and nostalgia of our childhood outdoors.”
He further added that the experience of working with Director Andrew Formale and drone photographer Zack Aquilino was unforgettable, especially as it was filmed at a friend’s property and featured some of their family members.
“The Weight” serves as a precursor to the band’s new album, “Boundless”. This comes after the remastered release of their iconic LP “Heart Means Everything” in 2022. Surprisingly, “Boundless” is the first fresh music from With Honor since their 2005 album, “This Is Our Revenge”. The new album encapsulates the same fiery passion and vivacity that was synonymous with With Honor during their inception.
“Boundless” was crafted at Silver Bullet Studios in Burlington, CT, with the expertise of producer Greg Thomas and Chris Teti. The album is not just a sonic experience; it traverses profound themes such as nature, self-healing, and inner peace, while also addressing pressing societal concerns like poverty, gun violence, and the patriarchy. Even though the tracks might seem like a spontaneous eruption of energy, the band ensured the songs felt organic and genuine, reflecting their true essence both past and present.
Reflecting on the album’s title, Mackey revealed, “We decided on ‘Boundless‘ after the record was finalized. The concept that there are no boundaries echoes throughout the album. It speaks of nature’s self-healing powers, instilling the belief of boundless potential within oneself. The title encapsulates the album’s soul perfectly.”
