Metal/Hardcore LP picks from Evil Greed distro

1 min read

Evil Greed label unleashes a new episode of EG Distro Picks. After Full of Hell, Primitive Man, Swain, AYS and Sect, the Berlin-based merchandise and distribution company invites the Seattle doom metal duo Bell Witch to sit on the famous sofa. In this new video, Dylan Desmond (bass, vocals), Jesse Shreibman (percussion, Hammond B3, vocals) and Erik Moggridge of Aerial Ruin talk about some of their favorite records in Evil Greed’s store. From Mizmor to Primitive Man, from The Body to Yob, these 20 minutes recount the musical tastes of a band that created one of the most beautiful doom albums of recent years.

Video by Yannik Vargar.

Evil Greed is a point of reference for band merchandise and music in Europe. The company runs official web stores for bands such as Nails, American Nightmare, Incendiary, Cold Cave, Integrity, Amenra, Full of Hell, Gatecreeper and more and offers a wide range of records from bands and labels from all over the world.

Bell Witch have, since their inception in 2010, carved out a unique niche in the metal scene, utilizing only bass, drums and vocals to create a mournful, melodic take on minimalism and an ethereal but crushing approach to magnitude. Their most recent LP, “Mirror Reaper” (Profound Lore), was recorded by Billy Anderson and is their most focused, structured and melancholy release to date.

“Mirror Reaper” sees the band explore the more meditative, melancholy, and introspective aspects of their sound through the introduction of long, lonely organ passages and the return of honorary Bell Witch member, vocalist Erik Moggridge (Aerial Ruin), as a prominent presence.

Music played in the video:

Lifesick – Lifesick
Bell Witch – Mirror Reaper
Mizmor – III. The Serpent Eats Its Tail
The Body – The West Has Failed
Woe – Unending Call Of Woe
Cloud Rat – The Upper World
Yob – Marrow
High On Fire – Devilution
Amenra – A Mon Ame
Chelsea Wolfe – 16 Psyche
Full Of Hell/Merzbow – High Fells
Sunn O))) – Orthodox Caveman
Primitive Man – Victim

All titles can be purchased through the official Evil Greed web store at this location.
