Michigan emotive alt rockers SILKTAIL teasing new album – hear new single “Blind Joy” now!

1 min read

SILKTAIL is pleasingly loud, blown-out-speaker, hard-hitting melodic alt-rock from Lansing, Michigan. The vocals and delivery recall a blend of mid-90’s emo bands while the band’s musical roots could be traced back to Husker Du and Dinosaur Jr. Naturally channeling their influences, the band released their debut EP “salt” in 2019, a limited 7inch “Vapor” in 2021 and now have their debut LP “In Your Own Shade” coming early summer 2022 on Setterwind records. Today, we’re pleased to give you the band’s second single “Blind Joy”!

“Blind Joy” is the second single from Silktail’s upcoming LP, “In Your Own Shade”, to be released on May 6, 2022 via Setterwind Records and Smog Moon Recordings. The track is a melancholic reflection on getting stuck in your own head and not being able to make sense of anything. It features Carla Brooks creating a peaceful atmosphere on piano before the band kicks into their fuzzy, shoegaze and emo inspired alt rock.

The track ends with an explosive yet defeated realization to continue smiling through the moments whether it’s genuine or not. Through these blown out riffs and catchy hooks Silktail creates a welcoming uncertainty that we can all relate to.

The first single, “Clarity”, is available for streaming below.
