nothing, nowhere. returns with new powerful single “MEMORY_FRACTURE”

NOTHING,NOWHERE. has released another new tune, an eclectic genre blender and full band showcase track called ‘MEMORY_FRACTURE‘. Check it out above and go here to see the current live dates. “MEMORY_FRACTURE” cybernetically fuses ethereal guitar transmissions and waves of crushing distortion. Elaborating on the song nothing, nowhere. commented, “I’m just making music I want to make. I’ll leave it up to the listener to unearth their own meanings and opinions.”

The new track follows nothing, nowhere.’s recent standalone single “sledgehammer” which Rock Sound hailed as “another perfect slice of introspective and intense alt-rap brilliance,” going on to add, “It’s dense, decadent and further cements Joe as one of the best to do it.” Notably, “sledgehammer” saw the Vermont based artist building on elements from the standout single “hammer” which originally appeared on his 2018 LP RUINER.

This week nothing, nowhere. will launch his eagerly anticipated 2022 North American headline tour. Featuring special guests POORSTACY, carolesdaughter, gucchighwaters, Snarls, and SCARYPOOLPARTY, the tour is set to get underway on April 21st at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ and will continue through a performance on May 27th at New York City’s Irving Plaza [tour itinerary below]. Last year saw the release of nothing, nowhere.’s celebrated new album TRAUMA FACTORY. Available on all streaming platforms, TRAUMA FACTORY finds nothing, nowhere. once again emerging from darkness, shedding external expectation, and moving forward into the glow of pure creation. TRAUMA FACTORY is highlighted by “fake friend,” nothing, nowhere.’s first song ever to enter Billboard’s “Alternative Airplay” chart. The track is joined by a Mason Mercer directed official music video which spirals over nothing, nowhere.’s seamless alchemy of alternative, pop, rap, and punk.

The New York Times hailed TRAUMA FACTORY track, “DEATH,” as a “Scabrous, immensely satisfying emotional expurgation from Joe Mulherin that deploys early Beastie Boys drums and Rage Against the Machine bark-rapping in service of a rap-rock revival bathed in righteousness.” CLASH declared, “While human suffering or pain isn’t joyous, the special craft of nothing, nowhere. most certainly is,” and FLOOD praised album cut “lights (4444)” for its “minimalist trap beat,” adding it “sounds like a GothBoiClique single steeped in a turn-of-the-century boy-band aesthetic.” The FADER hailed early single “blood” (Feat. KennyHoopla and JUDGE) as “a strapping collaboration,” while UPROXX avowed, “it’s clear that there’s a lot more going into Joe Mulherin’s production style,” celebrating the song’s “hip-hop beats and a driving distorted bass line.”

nothing, nowhere. summarized the body of work detailing, “TRAUMA FACTORY is an accumulation of songs written during a confusing time. it is about accepting the present and following your true north through the pain and suffering of human life,” nothing, nowhere. revealed He added, “I wanted to make an album that was truly genreless and inspire others to challenge themselves artistically. I believe the most inspiring art is unpredictable and unrestrictive. to me that’s what TRAUMA FACTORY is.”

nothing, nowhere. is the musical endeavor of Vermont songwriter, singer and guitarist Joe Mulherin. For Mulherin, nothing, nowhere. is about a connection. It’s one he finds with fans around the world, who gather to see him play on tour and to listen to his songs online. It’s that connection that urges the singer to place his fears aside and step onstage each night to share his art. He sees the potential to help, to make a change, however small it may be and that is why he brings his music out of the Vermont wildness.

“MEMORY_FRACTURE” Lyrics:

we fight, we fall, we fuck
i sleep until the sun
I burn the memories
your stomachs never full
it’s filled with chemicals
the sound it ends the lull

i hate to see you cry
the low it kills the high
the years they pass you by

i need some space
feel like giving up and it’s late
i felt down before but i can’t
see that memory in that space
sing that reverie in that place
it’s empty
all of the things that we promised, it’s true
all of the nights that i promised to you
that i would change

i felt it all
the sound
the sight
the light
across your face_

lie down
lie down
wake up
wake up

the pain and agony
the silent casualties
the brain anatomy
(fails you)

i need some space
feel like giving up and it’s late
i felt down before but i can’t
see that memory in that space
sing that reverie in that place
it’s empty
all of the things that we promised, it’s true
all of the nights that i promised to you
that i would change

i felt it all
the sound
the sight
the light
across your face_

lie down
lie down
wake up
wake up

all that’s left behind is memories
the finite moments were temporary
a brief visit from serenity
a break from breaking down, flickering out
somewhere between serenity and insanity
somewhere between composure and catastrophe
i’ll meet you where the pavement ends
once again
it’s all intangible
it’s what i never had, it’s what i never will
and all the silence, we watch it fracture
so let it fracture
so let it fracture
