2 months after the release of their latest music video “Colorless Boy”, Venice based, Revolution Summer and 90s culture inspired post hardcore rockers MOTHER are back with a nostalgic new song and video called “Mom”, which we’re stoked to premiere above! The new track comes from the band’s new cassette tape slated for a late March release on Youth of Today Records.
Mixing 90s alt. rock with late 80s post-hardcore, Love Vision is a record that confronts different themes by reasoning through the lens of love. Starting with our dear ones in mind, the lyrics also deal with distant relationships, death, growing struggles, self consciousness and resilience. Check out its forerunners and stay tuned for more stuff from these cool guys very soon!
Lyrics:
Filling caskets with wildflowers,
It’s so damn hard.
Postponing breakdowns with a slow dance, i’m so numb, so gone.
Shut the pain in a cage, can’t feel the rage, its tip’s hidden.
Can’t feel the rage no more.
Your words. They change the winds as a butterfly’s wing beat.
This hurricane annihilates me everytime
I’ve been a part of you but you’ve never been a part of me.
I stole all the love i knew just to forget that you exist.
I’m building this love with my own bones.
Recorded and mixed by Giacomo Biasion, Mastered at Audiosiege Mastering Studio in Portland, OR by Brad Boatright, produced by Mother. Release by Youth of Today Records and I Want To Believe Tapes. Additional vocals by Giorgia Zabeo, Samall Ali and Michael Simeon.
MOTHER is a project born in the spring of 2017 from an idea of bassist Manuel, singer Riccardo and drummer Giacomo to start a band influenced by D.C.’s late 80s post-hardcore scene and a huge span of bands from Turning Point to Give, from The Smiths to Dinosaur Jr.. With Davide and Fabio both on guitars, Mother completed its lineup and recorded songs written in the past year. Mother is now focusing on booking shows for the rest of 2019 to promote and distruibute their debut EP, possibly throughout other countries.
MOTHER is playing a release party for “Love Vision” on March 30th at Youth Of Today festival, a warm-up for the almighty Venice Hardcore Fest taking piace in May.
