Dark, nihilistic, sludgy, dirty, raging, crusty, and visceral – these are only some of the words that come to my mind after hearing the new split between d-beat hardcore acts ATTA from Linz, Austria, and RAIVA froom Frankfurt, Germany. Scheduled for a release via TKxPV Records, the split is getting its official premiere right here on IDIOTEQ and you can hear it below!
In their vicious sonic exploration, both bands have created sounds that complement each other and it’s a great find that they have managed to find themselves working under the defining characteristics of the crusty d-beat hardcore genre in a variety of ways, bending very often towards specifically metallic hardcore territory and various different moods that create an exciting, powerful mixture. These crushing blows should earn them a nickname. Hit the play button and you’ll be guided through a great, muscular listen that’s worth a check. Oh, and feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
