Noise rockers HAMMOK share new video for “One Minute”

2 mins read

Norwegian noise-rock trio HAMMOK has just dropped the video for their latest track, “One Minute,” offering fans a surprising departure from their signature sound. Known for their explosive energy and genre-bending noise, HAMMOK’s new release is a rare moment of introspection, showcasing a calmer, more reflective side of the band.

One Minute” was written early in the process of creating their debut album, Look How Long Lasting Everything Is Moving Forward For Once, but it didn’t quite fit with the rest of the record. Despite this, the band always felt the song deserved its own spotlight. Now, separated from the chaos of the album, it stands as an outlier—an unexpected detour into calmer waters.

“This song is a collection of thoughts, feelings, and observations from the past two years of traveling and playing shows,” the band explained.

“It’s the calm after the storm that was Long Lasting. This is one of those songs that just slips out of you when you least expect it. While writing the album, this track was finished early in the process but never really fit. But there was always a feeling it deserved to be heard. So here it is, presented in isolation, the odd one out. NO SCREAMS THIS TIME!!!!!!!!”

The video for “One Minute,” which premiered on Everything is Noise, is as much a departure as the song itself. Stripped of the hardcore chaos that defined their earlier work, the track is deeply textured, with driving instrumentation pulled back from the noise. The guitars are atmospheric, the bass cleaner, and the drums more restrained, allowing the vocals to take center stage. The song’s instrumental break, rich in melody, lingers long after the track ends, leaving a haunting impression.

The video itself is a blend of artful yet unpretentious visuals. It features the band’s vocalist in a series of striking scenes, from intense thrashing to moments of quiet reflection, all against the backdrop of urban landscapes reminiscent of youthful hangouts. Director Nicolai Kjernet perfectly captures the mood of the song, combining candid shots with more deliberate, framed compositions, making the video feel like a natural extension of a day spent creating together.
