Sharing members of several prolific upstate New York bands including Taking Meds, Such Gold, and Druse, Rochester based rock’n’roll infused hardcore band WHO DECIDES are dropping their debut EP this Friday via Head2WallRecords, and today we’re thrilled to give you the first full listen of the swingin’ offering, featuring 6 high-octane jams that spit in your face, while shining through in the hooks that will stick out for days!
With some members only currently residing in Rochester due to Covid-19, the forced downtime gave WHO DECIDES a chance to finish working on the record. With most of the record being tracked at home by the band themselves, Alex Salter and Jon Markson did mixing and mastering work from New Hampshire and Allentown, respectively. The record is set to drop on May 15 via Head2Wall Records.
Guitarist Skylar Sarkis says,
“We wanted to start a hardcore band for fun and it became an obsession so we finished a demo in under a month. We’re trying to make the kind of stuff we like listening to most, particularly drawing from our favorite Boston and New York bands.”
Who Decides, the brand new hardcore punk brainchild of half of Taking Meds and half of Druse, comes out of nowhere with this blistering, six-song debut.
Ripping through this nine and a half minutes of tightly controlled chaos without taking a second to breathe, Who Decides is the perfect pause from a scene full of overthought, under-committed bands, with nothing to say and way too much time to say it. Hold onto something…
