POLYMATH change chameleon colors to various genres on their new record “Reptiles”!

1 min read

Brighton experimental rockers from POLYMATH mark another step in today’s progressive / instrumental music. The band is a three-piece instrumental outfit playing densely layered math rock reminiscent of early BATTLES and THE MARS VOLTA. The band joined the LVR roster at the end of 2014 to release the EP on limited edition vinyl. ‘Reptiles’ is due for release on 16th February and it’s truly a gift that all lovers of adventurous music experiments should love. This must be an incredible live attraction – can’t wait to see these guys live!

After a slew of successful singles and shows across the UK and Europe, Polymath have emerged from the studio with their gargantuan EP ‘Reptiles’. The band spent one week with producer/engineer Lee McMahon (And So I Watch You From Afar, Dry The River) crafting their off-kilter jams into six superb tracks that would make Omar Rodriguez Lopez break sweat.

“Once you settle into the album and allow it to take you to its dizzying heights anchored by its steady, sure-footed (yet shifting) roots, you come out the other end bolder than you were before you listened.” Independent Music News

“Reptiles will be looked back upon as the moment Polymath pushed the boundaries and became one of 2015s best math-rock bands” Alt Dialogue

“A beautiful, ugly, magnificent beast that both delights and devours your ears in one swift, elegant move” Leeds Music Scene
