French indie-folk artist Quentin Sauvé, recognized for his association with Birds in Row, has unveiled his latest creation, ‘The Apiary Live Session‘. The EP has been made available to the public through Humus Records, Luik Musik & Bright Colors and can be accessed on all major digital platforms as well as on Bandcamp.

Accompanying the EP release is a live video session for the track ‘Tunnel’, a piece that gives an insightful look into the artist’s life.

Describing his inspiration behind ‘Tunnel‘, Sauvé recounts how there can sometimes be a myopic vision when one passionately believes in something. The song sheds light on a demanding year – 2019, where he performed 200 shows and faced his first panic attacks. Yet, it’s not just about the tumult; it’s also about falling in love.

Delving into the live session, Quentin touches upon the significance of full-band performances. He has, in the past, been a part of a solo project, ‘Throw Me Off The Bridge’, which also employed a full band. The live session was an opportunity for Sauvé to bring together former band members and new acquaintances, encapsulating a sense of unity and collaboration.

Drawing influence from noise & hardcore bands such as Refused & Converge, Quentin’s solo work takes a more subdued route, with introspective indie folk compositions. His soundscape resembles that of artists like Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, and Big Thief, yet also those soloists with heavier backgrounds like Louis Jucker and Dallas Green.

A staunch advocate for the DIY rock scene, Sauvé’s journey in music started young.

His bass-playing role in the punk-hardcore band Birds In Row led to the recognition of his talents. Yet, in 2019, he showcased another dimension of his artistry with his debut solo album ‘Whatever It Takes’, a deeply personal work. The trajectory of his musical exploration continued with the release of his second LP “Enjoy the view” in Spring 2023.

To further promote ‘The Apiary Live Session’, Quentin will embark on a European tour, which includes stops in the UK, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Belgium. Some of these performances will feature Birds In Row.
