Despite all the labels, names and genres used to tag a band, ‘Cosmic Drips’ sees Toronto rock band CRAZY BONES stepping beyond their confines and bring in well textured tracks, full of energetic, yet free floating melodies and shifting sonic trips. It seems like they never allow their influences to make an impression greater than the one that CRAZY BONES themselves are thrusting into our ears. Watch, listen and leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
The band started out in college with intentions of getting drunk and playing house shows. When we did we were always vibing on energy more than performance. We really loved the Ramones and the Cramps and just wanted to play basic 4 chord garage. Eventually, we all ended up in Toronto, where our sound changed and we became more focused on the performance.
I wrote this song when I was living in Tofino sitting by the ocean one day. The sun was huge and everything seemed beyond bright. Anemone and sun stars of all different colours getting bashed by waves, everything looked like it was melting. I thought it would be alright if I just melted into the ocean with everything else around me.
Our songs, generally speaking, are about death, life, paranoia, otherworldly beings, and nature. Our live shows tend to knock people’s brains around a bit. We strive to make our fuzzy sound an ethereal experience….
