On August 13, 2010, SHEER TERROR reared its ugly head once again and it appears that the illustrious Reverend Paul Bearer along with the new and improved lineup of Mike Delorenzo (guitar), Jason Carter (bass) and Anthony Corallo (drums) are here to stay this time. After delivering their first 7″, “Spite,” to satiate the hunger of the hardcore masses, the first SHEER TERROR full-length in 18 years is about to drop on our heads like a bag of cinder blocks. Recorded in early 2014 by Dean Baltulonis at Thump Studios in Brooklyn, NY, “Standing Up For Falling Down” pulls no punches.
Today, we’re thrilled to give you a special close look at three different variants of the unique 2019 reissue from Knives Out Records, which spreaded the album over 500 limited picture disc vinyls, with unique artwork on each one, proving that the label’s knack for crafting timeless releases by creating concepts and artworks that run much broader than your usual packaging.
Tonr, the owner of Knives Out Records, specializes in rare, limited releases, and for this unique offering he has re-worked some Dave Decat art again (Hangman’s Chair) and re-released this LP as a triptyche, “to keep your mind in love”. Here’s what he had to say about this project:
I’ve declined the og artwork made by belgian artist Dave Decat in a triptyche, so each 3 picture disc with same music but with artwork totally different on A & B sides. 2 of them have a diptyche on b side. Those are are limited to 200 each. and a special one is only limited to 100. For each vinyl I’ve designed a die cut sleeves packaging. They are all different. They fit to the illustration graphically and also in the meaning. Also, the whole thing comes with triptyche download cards + triptyche certificate number flyers.
