On March 9th, West Switzerland’s instrumental post-rock/metal band DARIUS will release their new EP CLÔTURE via Czar Of Revelations and Cold Smoke Records. These guys deliver orchestral songs without pompousness. Raw riffs. Simple and repetitive chords you wanna play with too much excitation. Riffs that hurt your wrist and cover your guitar with blood. Riffs that once layered form an atypical, choral and fairly violent post-rock. Like a big cake, made of real and healthy ingredients, nutritive, fat as fuck and surprisingly digest.

A prog(ish) bleak metal act from Budapest, Hungary, ORIENT FALL, just returned with their highly anticipated new single ‘Mankind’.

„One of Hungary’s most promising metal newcomers, ‘Orient Fall’ – after its critically acclaimed debut full-length ’Fractals’ – has just released its brand new single ’Mankind’. A few years of waiting are behind them with several shows across Europe, but right now the band is ready to show itself reborned with a new grievous and dystopic sound about keeping the mankind and the individual restrained, predicting a dark and an anti-utopist world; strengthened by a red-black music video created by John Peter Kiss (ex-Till We Drop, Seven Seas). The main role was played by the beautiful Dorka Papp who has been unconsciously building a maze around herself without any exits, and only noticing this when it’s too late. The band photos were taken by ÁdĂĄm Szappanos. ‘Mankind’, the band’s returning track was fully written, recorded and mixed by ‘Orient Fall’, and it’s the first track among the four off the upcoming EP. They are going to return to the stage in a couple of weeks by supporting The Faceless (USA).”

“Making this video was a lot of fun. From the very first phone call we had with director Cory Santilli we knew we were in good hands. We wanted the video to be weird and uncomfortable, to paint the song a different color than you might have pictured when you first heard it. Cory gave us this idea and we loved it. Being on the shoot and dressing up in weird costumes has always been an FYS favorite (and least favorite) pastime.” – Alan Day

Following the release of their debut EP, As You Were, in the Spring of 2017, Brooklyn-based band Stay Inside continued to cut their teeth gigging while watching the landscape that is the current state of world affairs grow murkier and more cynical.

Set to release on the 11th of May 2018 through KROD Records The Good Life is a lovely piece of modern emo-punk. The band has evolved towards a style that inherits all the classic influences of their 2000s pop-punk heroes paired with a good touch of emotional lyrics, melancholic chords and distinct vocal lines that spin in your head after the first listen.

Elm Tree Circle is a four-piece Emo Pop-Punk band from Germany. Over the last few years, the band has been engaged in extensive touring playing numerous shows across Europe up to Asia and abroad, sharing the stage with such iconic acts as The Ataris, Pears and Such Gold. Substream is premiering second single “You with a Cape, Me with a Baseball Bat” today. Anchored by Connor Erickson’s creamy riff, it’s an alt-rock jammer that veers dangerously close to pop-punk’s fixation on being a more significant other before exploring more sonic depth. This follows lead single “Eau Claire? Oh, Claire.,” which received glowing praise from Stereogum, UPROXX, Alternative Press, and more

Brooklyn-based noise-rockers RUSSIAN BATHS are sharing “What’s Your Basement,” the second single off of their forthcoming, debut EP, Penance. The track premiered on Decibel Magazine where the band shared, “There was a man in Amstetten who hid a family with his daughter in a basement for 24 years. He said he always knew it wasn’t right, but allowed it to become a normal occurrence. Rationalization is very problematic.”

Incorporating dissonance into traditional song structures, Penance’s aesthetic recalls Big Black’s caustic fits, ’70s space rock, Chapel Hill’s noise pop, Big Muff driven grunge, and the angular arrangements of British post-punk. The breadth of Russian Bath’s scope in sound is marked by the distance and cohesion between singles in the furious, driving “Slenderman” and the elegant thunderstorm that is “Poolhouse.”
