Sludge band WREN streaming new EP!

April 28, 2016
1 min read

Almost 2 years after their interview for IDIOTEQ, London sludge / post metal band WREN is back with a quality new EP, available in digital, on vinyl next Friday at Holy Roar Records. Teased by the recent “No Seance” video (watch below), the “Host” harnesses the energy of monumental post metal assaults, and channels that into more ambient, almost magical soundscape of their own. WREN continues to stun with their own mixture of doom, sludge, and artsy atmosphere. I can’t recommend this EP enough, but if you get the chance to see them performing live, my recommendation is just as strong. Catch them live tomorrow at JT Soar in Nottingham, UK with IRK, their partners in crime.

‘Whilst Host unreservedly reflects the stylistic impact of genre pioneers Converge and Neurosis, Wren have deliberately filtered this influence through the acerbic lens of The Jesus Lizard, and in an attempt to separate themselves from the quagmire of post-metal replicants, Wren have forged something sonically and conceptually imposing.’
