STRAY FROM THE PATH wrap up recording sessions for their 6th studio album

1 min read

On a mission to bring honest, pissed off music to the world, Long Island New York’s STRAY FROM THE PATH have just completed recording their next full-length offering that follows up the band’s 2015 release Subliminal Criminals. The band recorded once more with Will Putney, who also produced, mixed, and mastered the yet-to-be-titled studio album, at Graphic Nature Audio out of Belleville New Jersey with additional vocal production from Jesse Barnett of STICK TO YOUR GUNS.

Vocalist Drew York comments on the recording process:

Having our new drummer Craig Reynolds in the studio made for a different experience going into it, but Craig is an absolute maniac and he smashed it!! We also pushed ourselves harder than we ever have before working 12, sometimes 16 hours a day; there was a couple of times I thought I was losing my mind haha.

Going back to Will Putney was an obvious choice for us because he is a genius and plays a huge part in the aesthetic of this band. We also had our good friend Jesse Barnett do some vocal production and it was great having him there, shooting ideas around, and getting involved with everything.

To wrap it up, if I could describe the record in a few words I would say that it is the heaviest, most pissed off, and relentless record this band has ever made. And that makes me very happy.

Catch STRAY FROM THE PATH live as they tour North America as direct support to Architects on the ALL OUR GODS HAVE ABANDONED US tour that just kicked off on March 7 in Detroit, MI and wraps up on April 6 in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
