Chaotic hardcore was used in the 1990s for a form of punk associated with bands such as Antioch Arrow, whose music was marked by agitation and frantic movement. Later descriptions overlap the term with mathcore and noisecore.
Edmonton’s False Body approach it from hardcore, while .gif from god and Singapore’s Glassmouth sit close to the mathcore side. Deaf Club bring a punk and grind-informed attack, while Death Meta connect the term with Myspace-era grind and damaged-machine textures.
