Based in Rennes, western France and founded in late 2009 by Calvaiire’s vocalist Matthias Jungbluth, Throatruiner Records has made a point to focus on the most abrasive and darkest sides of hardcore and metal. The label’s current roster features the best of the arising french scene (PLEBEIAN GRANDSTAND, COWARDS, DEATH ENGINE, …) as well as North American & european acts (VERMIN WOMB, PROTESTANT, DAGGERS…) or the earlier works of bands such as Birds In Row and Primitive Man. Evolving between various niches (hardcore/punk, sludge, noise, black metal, crust…), Throatruiner has forged itself a solid reputation over fifty releases by releasing high-end vinyl records while still standing behind its free download stance.
