“The Horror” – Swedish metallized hardcore band SNAKE TONGUE premiere new video

1 min read

SNAKE TONGUE is going to play a couple of shows in Mexico this week (scroll down to see the dates), and to celebrate, they have teamed up with us to give you their new music video for the song ”The Horror”, taken from the band’s debut album ”Raptor’s Breath”, out now via The Sign Records. Shot and edited by Staffan Thorström, the video can be watched above.

”The Horror” deals with all the historic and present horrors we do in the name of civilisation. Why don’t we ever learn?

SNAKE TONGUE spits out chaotic music where the energetic pulse from punk and hardcore, the rotten breath ofrom grindcore and the bloody broken bones from metal all melts together. Their 2016 debut record Raptor’s Breath, mixed by Kurt Ballou of CONVERGE, is paying homage to the greats of their native Swedish extreme hardcore and metal, and has been one of the most underappreciated offerings in the genre. Lacing well-balanced blitzkriegs with blasts of many different styles and undertones, the record demands and rewards attention. You can hear it in its entirety below!

Raptor’s Breath is the debut album from Sweden’s Snake Tongue. 28 minutes of ruthless, raw and aggressive mayhem held together by classic elements from the Swedish extreme scenes. An essential part of the nine track album is the mix made by Kurt Ballou (Converge), that brings forth the bands technical parts in a perfect blend with the Swedes more brutal side. The band holds a chaotic sound on the brink of total madness.

“This record blew me away from the moment I loaded in the mastering session. Raging modern hardcore from Sweden, with well structured songs, a flawless recording, and a heavy dose of aggression from Kurt’s mix… Relentless!” – Brad Boatright, From Ashes Rise / Audiosiege Mastring

The recording was mainly made in HoboRec Studio by Ulf Blomberg and is mixed by Kurt Ballou (GodCity) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Audiosiege). This combination plows way for an album that is a perfect combination of the Swedish and US scenes. The artwork is made by Mattias Frisk who have worked with bands such as Ghost, Night, Morbus Chron and Vampire.

Snake Tongue have shared stage with Doomriders, Coliseum, Oathbreaker and Deathraid.
