“(T)hug of War” – new aching, emotional track from screamo act TO LANGUISH

Members of emotional screamo band TO LANGUISH (introduced on IDIOTEQ in November last year) have been making music together since the inception of their previous project VIVRE SA VIE in 2016, and their newest work is built around hearty, uptight arrangements that create a dense, almost spooky mood, that seems to be able to turn the anxiety into a source of strength. Today, we’re unveiling the first forerunner of their upcoming debut 12”, to be released later this year via Á fond d’cale, Middleman Records, I.Corrupt.Records, Don’t Care Records, Grand Dad Records, Longrail Records, Share This Breath, Adorno Records, Pundonor Records, and Hardcore For The Losers!

The new track is called “(T)hug of War” and is actually a demo of what’s to come on the proper recording. It will be available on tape just in time for TO LANGUISH‘s upcoming European run in early May, featuring a stop at the one and only Miss The Start Fest in Berlin and a couple of other great gigs. Here’s what the band had to say about the new single:

This is a brand new song we recorded in our rehersal room called (T)hug of war. It’s one of ten songs that will be available on our comming 12″ that we will record when we get home from our tour in May.

There are some really great labels involved in helping us release. We will do a proper update on this when time comes.

But for this new song we got help from Adorno records to make a small batch with tapes for the tour.

Asked about the lyrical content behind the new track, they added:

The lyrical content of the song is about living with mental health issues.

And how people from the outside cannot see certain parts of your problems, but for you they are like a vortex in your head

– With thoughts of self-hate and loathing.
