It is my pleasure to report that one of the greatest discoveries of the 2015 here on IDIOTEQ, Italian outfit TUTTI I COLORI DEL BUIO has just announced their new record Initiation Into Nothingness and scheduled it for an October 8th release through Bare Teeth Records! The album’s artwork, track listing, and first public audio sample now available to the public!
TUTTI I COLORI DEL BUIO began at the end of 2013 in Turin, Italy, from four friends previously involved in such bands as Marmore, Last Minute To Jaffna, and Magdalene, all active and known within the Italian scene. Containing tracks written in their first two years as a band, the new album titleInitiation Into Nothingness as well as the band’s moniker (translated to All The Colors Of The Dark in English) are a clear tribute to the 1972 movie directed by Sergio Martino. The eleven tracks on the record are all about their love for 1980s and ’90s hardcore punk, Black Sabbath records, horror movies, sonic violence, and high BPM delivery.Initiation Into Nothingness was tracked at OFF Studio in Turin, Italy by Paul Beauchamp and Danilo Battocchio – TICDB‘s guitar player – who also handled mixing duties at his own Deepest Sea Studio in Turin, Italy. Upon completion the album was mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege in Portland, Oregon (Integrity, Nails, Victims, Ringworm). The last track, “To The End Of The Night,” features guest vocals by Weed Mason of the band Tons, and the cover art is by Gigi Fagni, tattoo artist and close friend of the band, while the overall layout was directed by Steuso, a graphic artist known for his screen-printed posters.

Initiation Into Nothingness follows a four tracks demo, released in March 2014 on 7″ via Escape From Today and Bare Teeth Records and a few months later on tape by Bookhouse Records in the USA, receiving positive reviews in Italy’s main magazines and some international zines as well, such as Cult Nation and Idioteq. In July of this year, 1985 – 2015: un Omaggio a Nerorgasmo was released, a four way split featuring TICDB along with other Italian bands Storm{O}, Gerda and Chambers, in which each band covered a track from Nerorgasmo’s debut EP (one of the most influential punk bands ever in Italy). During this time TICDB played all over Italy, sharing the stage with acts such as Brujeria, Negative Approach, Unida, Poison Idea, Zu, Bologna Violenta, Hexis, ACXDC, Implore, Spirit Caravan, This Gift Is A Curse, and others, and along the way playing some large festivals including Solo Macello, Genova Urla, DIO Fest, and more.
TUTTI I COLORI DEL BUIO remains active on the live front, with a plethora of gigs booked for October and November in support of the album, leading with a release party in Torino on October 8th and more, with additional live actions to be declared along the way.
