As a young teenager living in Northern New Jersey, I grew up listening to punk and metal. I had gotten into some trouble with the law after I graduated High School and had decided to turn over a new leaf. As my life choices at the time almost landed me in jail, I knew I had to invest more in myself and occupy my time a bit better. With the love of the music and an abundance of music venues in the area, I began going to shows nonstop. I would even taking trips to NYC by myself to hit shows and The Pipeline in Newark, NJ became my new hangout. I made new friends in the scene fairly quickly and started my own band. One of my favorite bands to see was MADBALL.
I’ve seen them countless times in NYC and New Jersey, and even a handful of times since I moved to Florida. Every single time I have ever seen them, it’s like the first time all over again. This band is “The Real Deal” and continue to prove it to the world time and time again. So, you can picture the excitement when I heard back from Freddy that he was going to do the interview before the recent Madball show in Melbourne, Florida. Anyway, it’s not every day that I get to interview a NY Hardcore legend, so I hope everyone out there gets as much from the interview as much as I did. Enjoy.
