“Void Treader” – WALK THE PLANK record premiere & tour announcement

1 min read

One year since their 2017 Euro tour and our accompanying interview here on IDIOTEQ, Washington, D.C. swingin’ gardcore punk rockers WALK THE PLANK are back with a new EP and another European run this August! The trek kicks off on the 30th of July in Belgium alongside VOODOO GLOW SKULLS and AUTHROITY ZERO, and the full itinerary can be seen below (a couple of dates are still to be announced). The band’s new EP is called “Void Treader” and will be available on cassette for the tour only. Today, ahead of another surprise next week, we’re thrilled to give  you the exclusive full listen of the record!

Guitarist Alex Reimer commented:

“This is collection of a few new songs we wanted to get out, as well as some older tunes we wanted to re-record. We felt “Nothing In Common” and “Polar Bear Riot” needed to be redone from when we first recorded them 8 years ago. Also we wanted to do something special for this tour, so we decided to do a special tour only cassette for it.”

Singer Ian Crocker further explained the concept of the record:

“The new songs on the EP are a commentary on the current political climate in the world. In an effort to remind ourselves that what we’re seeing is not, and should never be considered normal. I feel it is important to remind ourselves of that, because if we accept this as the new norm we’re totally fucked.”

“Void Treader” is out now on Cassette and digitally via 30 Kilo Fieber Records.

WALK THE PLANK European Summer tour starts on July 30th in Belgium:
