WINTER live in San Francisco, August 2011

July 30, 2012
1 min read

WINTER performed live at Elbo Room in San Francisco on August 15th, 2011.

The author of the footage, Kill That Cat, commented:

Time to slow it the fuck down and heavy it the fuck up with New York Cityโ€™s WINTER! First off, this isnโ€™t the full set, my apologies. I donโ€™t remember why, probably because of reasons of old age and excessive marijuana, but the last song wasnโ€™t recorded. We got audio of the whole set, including the last song, and will post that separately someday, but just letting yaโ€™ll know that they played another tune. Itโ€™s not a full set, but itโ€™s the full video we shot. Anyhooโ€ฆ WINTER!!! I have waited a long, long time to see this band. They broke up in the mid 90โ€ฒs, I think, before I had heard of them. They were one of those bands that were incredible but already done by the time Iโ€™d come across them. There was some excitement when they reformed and were said to be working on a new album, but nothing came of that. Even with the recent reunion and shows, I didnโ€™t expect this band to ever tour out west. Good olโ€™ Southern Lord got them out for a few shows on the west coast however, as the headliner for their Power Of The Riff festival, which hit three cities on this coast. In San Francisco the fest was split into two nights, and Winter headlined the first night. This was at the Elbo Room, one of my favorite venues in SF. Well, hereโ€™s the video finally! I recommend heavy marijuana usage prior to hitting play, and also make sure the volume is up high enough for your neighbors to hear this! WINTER!!!!
