Hardcore band FIREWALKER tackle existential dread on “Lit up with Fire”

1 min read

Boston hardcore band Firewalker will release their blistering sophomore album, Hell Bent, on June 28th through Triple B Records. Following the fervid anthem “Carry My Own Torch,” Firewalker now share second single “Lit up with Fire.”

On the track, the band give a sharp delivery emphasized by Sophie Henry’s growl-permeated vocals, and a blazing guitar solo. The song addresses the feeling of existential dread stemming from the harrowing world we live in.

Following their explosive debut demo in 2016, Firewalker stayed the course, releasing their eponymous LP in 2017, The Roll Call EP in 2019, and their latest demo in 2022.

Back in full force, the five-piece band has unleashed nine tracks of 80s-tinged metallic hardcore on Hell Bent.

The record progresses toward a heavier sound while still speaking out for those who feel underrepresented or alienated in hardcore. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by drummer Sasha Stroud at her studio, Artifact Audio, in NYC.

Clocking in at just under 20 minutes—plenty of time to take in the band’s crushing vocals, electrifying guitar solos, and shattering drums—the album demonstrates the rage and passion that come from being women in hardcore.

Hell Bent is now available for preorder through Triple B Records.

The band has also announced Summer tour dates including a record release show in Washington D.C. on July 4th and the Triple B Records x Sound & Fury Showcase with Mindforce, Fury, Conservative Military Image, and Hold My Own on July 11th in Los Angeles. More dates and info below.
