Blackened noisy hardcore/metal hybrid ILENKUS premiere new track!

October 6, 2016
1 min read

‘Exhume’ is the third single from ILENKUS‘ new EP ‘Hunger’, slated for an October 19th release on WOOAAARGH and several DIY labels listen below. It mixes elements of black metal, hardcore, noise and mathcore into a dark maelstrom of chaos. ‘Exhume’ proves the record to grow louder and more uncompromising with every track and offers almost distubring experience. By challenging their listeners and pushing themselves, ILENKUS manage to sound really huge and show a remarkable sense of vitality. Listen below to see for yourself.

Recorded, engineered and mixed by Aidan Cunningham (MURDOCK) and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (THE ARMED, SUNN O))), NAILS, OLD MAN GLOOM), ‘Hunger’ is due for release digitally on October 19th. A limited edition 7″ vinyl will be released late Autumn/Winter in conjunction with WOOAAARGH, Smiths Food Group DIY, Tjueto Cvlt, Icore Produzioni, Vollmer Industries and Feast Records.

Artwork by James Sheridan.

Tour Dates:

22 OCT – DUBLIN – Hangar w/ Ohhms
27 OCT – BRISTOL – Stag & Hounds w/ Heriot, Kainoah
28 OCT – NOTTINGHAM – JT Soar w/ Dead Hands, Wiremother, Kainoah

First single from the EP was called ‘Hunny Bunny’ and was recently featured on MetalSucks: “A nut-grabbing explosion of raw violence and grinding post-hardcore, this song brings to mind Axe to Fall-era CONVERGE with just enough BOTCH-inspired math bits thrown in to keep you on your toes’”.

Second track ‘Pretty Secret’ was also just premiered by The Sludgelord: “Galway noise terrorists Ilenkus engage and decimate with their ‘Pretty Secret'”.
