Berlin’s new thrashy hardcore punk act CRUCIAL POINT are streaming their long overdue new self-titled record on Lake Town Records!

We neither believe in a god nor religion or its institutions. We also absolutely oppose sexism, homophobia, antisemitism, racism and any other oppressional mechanisms of society. We support the idea of an anticapitalist and free association of equal and emancipated individuals, which also should be, in our opinion, self-evident in the hc/punk community. No gods, no masters!

On their debut EP, CHAIN REACTION rip through 5 songs of gritty New York inspired hardcore with groove and attitude. Ex members of RISE AND FALL, KINGPIN, and SPIRIT OF YOUTH. The Six Feet Under Records version is a one time pressing, limited to 100 copies only on white vinyl! Available in the EU on Control Records on black and green vinyl. Check out a song from the new EP (and check out the demo) below.

“Silent”, the new album of mathcore / chaotic hardcore act INFALL produced by Alan Douches (Converge, ETID, Mastodon…) is finally out! Born in 2014, Infall has recorded their first EP “Nitecomes” in November, which was released in September 2015 via This Is Core Records and distributed by Red Music Distribution. The video of the first single “Banally” was revealed on Blank TV. From the release date Infall was constantly on the road, with some international acts such Cancer Bats, Iron Reagan, Insanity Alert and Cripple Bastards. In November 2016 they recorded the debut album “Silent” in one of the best studios in Milan. The album was then mastered by Alan Douches (Converge, ETID, Dillinger, Mastodon) at West West Side Music (NY).

Minneapolis punk rockers OFF WITH THEIR HEADS (Epitaph Records) performed their song “Start Walking / Drive / The Must be Nigel With the Brie” live at The Rock Room. More tracks from the session are available on vinyl via Asbestos Records.

Baltimore, Maryland’s female fronted wild hardcore punk / metalcore act SHARPTOOTH have premiered their amazing new record Clever Girl on Pure Noise Records. The multi-style outing manages to remain accessible while still sounding heavy and at times unconventional, ultimately, impossible to grow bored of. Great listen to fuel your entire day. Dig it!

Honest, explosive, and unapologetically enraged, Sharptooth focuses the brutality of hardcore through a femme lens, and believes in carving out space for marginalized voices in aggressive music.

Sharptooth is currently making waves through the hardcore scene with their thrashed-up hardcore grit, punishing breakdowns, and socially conscious lyrics . Known for explosive live shows and battering ram energy, the five-piece – Lauren Kashan [vocals], Keith Higgins [guitar], Lance Donati [guitar], Phil Rasinski [bass], and Connor Mac [drums] – consistently leave a lasting impression on stage and on their full-length debut, Clever Girl.

Todd Kowalski of PROPAGANDHI discuss the band’s new record Victory Lap, poltics, and a lot more in the newest video interview with Raw Cut Media.

Dare To Care, the newest EP from Feminist punk rockers DREAM NAILS (see our interview HERE) has finally arrived. The record comes along with a 44 page zine “all about witchy self care”!

NEUROSIS bassist Dave Edwardson joined post black metallers KRALLICE to release a new epic album titled “Loüm“. A new KRALLICE album “Go Be Forgotten” will be released in late 2017.

The elements brought to the mix by Edwardson only give additional heft to a sound that wasn’t exactly lacking in density in the first place. It’s psychotic, virtuosic, pile-driving, time-shifting free-jazz-death-sludge-black metal. It is every bit as unrelenting as its authors. Listen. / Stereogum

British melodic emo punk rockers KIDBROTHER (we discovered these guys in early 2015) have shared a new music video for their song “Moon”. The band will be playing a show at The Monarch in London on November 7th.

Melodic post hardcore rockes STORY OF THE YEAR will release their first full-length record in seven years, Wolves, on December 8th. The first single, “Bang Bang”, is streaming below.

Lead singer Dan Marsala commented:

“This album is us breaking through any rules or creative parameters we may have set for ourselves in the past. These are the most organic, honest, naturally flowing songs we’ve had in years, maybe ever. It tells a story of growing up, feeling lost, realizing you’re not the person you thought that you would be, fighting for you life, falling in love, learning the importance of family, and all at the same time, being scared to death of how all of that fits together in life. It’s an up and down roller coaster of hope and fear.”

Brian Fallon of oour favorite blues tinged rock bands THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM and THE HORRIBLE CROWES, will release his new album “Sleepwalkers” on February 9th, and now you can listen to his first single from the album “Forget Me Not”. Brian will be touring Europe and the US this coming February, March, and April! See the details below.

Emotive alt rockers BRAND NEW have confirmed they will only be a band for “about 14 more months.” The band is currently on the road in support of Science Fiction, their fifth studio album, released on August 17, 2017.

GLASSJAW kicked off their current US tour with THE USED this past Friday, October 27th, in San Francisco, CA, and performed three ‘new’ songs, “New White Extremity“, “Shira” and “Abigados“.

The newest split from garage psych rockers CRAZY BONES and BRENDA has been unleashed nline. There is a Garage-Psych scene in Toronto that is oozing with talent, where potential for new and exciting bands is abundant. Two up and coming bands that have yet to make their global mark are the duo below. The two bands recorded a split this past summer entitled HELL/GOBLIN and both songs are dark and gloomy, about real life nightmares.

Decibel mag has premiered the title track off VITRIOL‘s new EP, Pain Will Define Their Death. Due for release on November 10th, Pain Will Define Their Death sets forth Vitriol’s sound in no uncertain terms. Through the EP’s three tracks, the Portland, Oregon band lashes out with a style rooted in the turn-of-the-millennium works of Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal, and Nile – death metal landmarks like Gateways to Annihilation, King of All Kings, and Black Seeds of Vengeance. Vitriol’s three members – guitarist/vocalist Kyle Rasmussen, bassist/vocalist Adam Roethlisberger, and drummer Scott Walker – attack the hallowed genre with a fresh aggression that cannot be faked. Dense, visceral, overwhelming, Vitriol’s tornado of sound is familiar but new.

On top of this base, Vitriol adds inspiration from avant-black visionaries like Xasthur and Deathspell Omega. Faint blackened layers open emotional dimensions beyond the scope of brutish death metal. In the words of guitarist/vocalist Rasmussen: “Black metal provides a spiritual and emotional violence, whereas death metal provides the physical violence. I wanted to be able to impart all of these experiences with our music. A full existential attack.”

Vitriol’s lyrics all serve to advance the band’s mission statement, as summed up by Rasmussen: “To expose the weakness, failure, and triviality of man, through passionate violence.”

Pain Will Define Their Death was recorded by the band and Derek Leisy at Audiosiege (Obituary, Full of Hell), and mixed by Taylor Young (Nails, Xibalba). It was mastered by Stephan Hawkes (Red Fang).

New Jersey surf pop punk rockers HANG TIGHT have released their debut EP Grind, via Standby Records.

Canadian baseball punk rockers ISOTOPES have shared a new video for ‘Rochelle, Rochelle’, coming from their latest album, ‘1994 World Series Champions’, released in April on Stomp Records (NA) and Destiny Records (UK/EU).

Grind metalcore act EMPLOYED TO SERVE‘s UK headline tour starts next week. See the details, check out their recent record ‘The Warmth Of A Dying Sun’ below and get your tickets HERE.

Employed To Serve are born out of a time where it felt like their generation had given up on their hopes and aspirations. The music is abrasive and unforgiving but the band have a continuing positive theme present in the lyrics throughout their releases, trying to better yourself instead of getting stuck in the groundhog day of a miserable, mundane existence. The band is about striving to achieve with a belief that something good will come from our generation’s lifetime.

PLAGUE MARKS‘ debut EP, Anxiety Driven Nervous Worship, is out today on Learning Curve Records and Reptilian Records. The self-proclaimed “stain on the smile of the Philadelphia music scene,” Philly noise-rock dream team Plaque Marks comprises members of Creepoid, Fight Amp, Ecstatic Vision, and The Powder Room. Caveman drumming, tooth-rattling bass, painfully distorted guitars, and buried yells are the elements at play, and on Anxiety Driven Nervous Worship they sound like they were recorded with one lone mic, hanging from a noose in a Philly warehouse.

Plaque Marks will hit the road for a North American tour in November and December, including three weeks with the mighty Unsane. GO HERE to see the dates.

Swansea pop punk rockers SEVEN STORIES HIGH are set to self-release ‘Deadweight’ on 26th November. Check out their lead single ‘Apathy’ below.

Deadweight is based on the Greek myth of King Midas, who is given the power to turn everything to gold with a touch, which then backfires when he turns his daughter into gold. Our adaption of this focuses on struggles of mental health,” declares Seven Stories High vocalist Rhys Hyett-Ferrier of the quintet’s newly announced sophomore EP. Sonically the band, who are influenced by State Champs, The Wonder Years and Four Year Strong, describe the release as “almost split in two – half follows a fast up-beat Pop Punk feel, which gets people dancing and jumping around. The other is heavier – fuller sounding and darker in feel, which you can chant and scream along to.” Yet, the EP flows as one piece of music, with each track written to fit the narrative, whilst being open enough to interpretation for listeners to make a personal connection.

Belgian math-rock trio RINCE-DOIGT just released its first (and last) album Croisière Annulée on Luik Records.

After three years of loops and complex rythms, the band will split up once the album’s out. Rince-Doigt will play a few last shows in Brussels, Luik, Namen…

A brand new videoclip, Monoï Monoï, is now available (see below).

Based in Brussels, Rince-Doigt is an instrumental trio digging into math- post- and kraut-rock genres to find the raw materials to their fantasies. Loops, off-beat rhythms and unlikely riffs entangle themselves to build exotic and complex sonic landscapes, as dancy as introspective.

After a first EP and 3 years of gigs alongside bands such as Mutiny On The Bounty, Delta Sleep or Totorro, Rince-Doigt is about to unveil its first and last album Croisière Annulée (“Canceled Cruise”), a visceral and colorful conclusion to their musical adventure, starting like a private joke ending up in fireworks.

Edmonton, Canada’s rock’n’rollers THE VELVETEINS have dropped a new video for their song ‘Strange Side Of The Street’.Their new ‘Slow Wave’ album is a tidily slacker nine-track distillation of cosmic vibes, indie rock tunes and glammed-up spirit epitomized by single ‘Midnight Surf,’ where dreamy melodies pop up from all angles and creamy guitar solos sink like polished stones. Better still, the video for ‘Strange Side of Street’ was shot on their last summer tour on a Super 8 camera they brought along with them, which you can see below. The record’s debut single ‘Don’t Yah Feel Better’ from their album has garnered attention from Noisey among others and has been streamed over 100,000 times so far.

The Velveteins fell into shape in the summer of 2014 after the singer Spencer’s return from quality time spent vagabonding around Australia – and believe you us, this is very much a band made to go vagabonding. The ‘A Hot Second With The Velveteins’ EP set out their rackety indie rock stall last year, and at the end of 2016 they dropped the ‘Don’t Yah Feel Better’ track to set the ‘Soft Wave’ debut album bells ringing with its punchy twangs and lurid lip-synch-tastic video.

Chicago punk rockers 88 FINGERS LOUIE performed live at the Rock Room Session. Their new album ‘Thank You for Being a Friend’ was released in June via Bird Attack Records.
