The From Nothing Series by Audiotree commences with a band that is unwilling to remain quiet – our recent featured guests, post metal group RUSSIAN CIRCLES. This initial episode features how the band remains a dominant presence in the underground rock scene, showcasing their ability to innovate while remaining true to their principles. In the new video above the band demonstrated their seasoned expertise in the load-in load-out process as they arrived in Chicago after a grueling half-completed US tour.
Despite the warm October weather, the band’s cheerful nature was palpable, and their guitarist, Mike Sullivan, was quick to share tour stories, talk about gear, and crack jokes that invigorated the band and the room.
During soundcheck, the band’s amplification literally shook the studio, and it was evident that their precision without the use of a click-track was a testament to their mastery at listening to themselves and each other simultaneously.
With nearly 20 years in the game, Russian Circles’ ability to push the bar with their repetitive loud rock music is a remarkable feat, making them the force to be reckoned with in their corner of the underground rock community.
Recorded live on October 3, 2022 in Chicago, IL.
