1 min read

Following our recent in-depth feature on the extreme metal trio from Leipzig, Germany, Chaver is back in the limelight with the release of their evocative music video for the song “Wanderer.” Coinciding with this, their highly-anticipated album “Of Gloom” is now available to the world, marking another milestone in their musical journey.

For those unfamiliar, Chaver’s sound is an intricate dance of ferocious death metal interlaced with the ethos of metallic hardcore. A departure from the stereotypical notion that extreme metal is one-dimensional, this trio continually demonstrates that the genre can be a vast playground of innovation and depth.

CHAVER

Chaver’s origins in 2016 began firmly rooted in a hardcore backdrop. This foundation set the stage for their fearless ventures into the realm of metal, not as a fleeting whim but as a deliberate evolution that’s evident in their releases like the SPLIT, 12″ EP, the powerful SWAMP EP, and their applauded debut LP, “Transference.”

Now, with “Of Gloom,” they delve into a narrative of personal turmoil in a society that seems to thrive on causing anguish.

The lyrics paint a vivid picture of depression and the quest for solace in isolation. Released under BDHW Records, this album is not just a collection of songs but a profound statement of Chaver’s position in the pantheon of heavy music.
