Hardcore band HOLD MY OWN drop Da Trifecta EP on 3 essential hardcore labels, sick shows incoming

1 min read

Hailing from Chicago and New Jersey, Hold My Own are creating 100% pure, in-your-face hardcore. Today, the band follows up their 2023 In My Way EP with Da Trifecta.

Released in collaboration by three of hardcore’s most vital labels – DAZE, Triple B Records, and Streets of Hate – the three song EP proves Hold My Own as an unstoppable force. Drawing from bands like Biohazard, Bulldoze, and Sheer Terror, the band take that old school energy and bring it into a modern fury.

Opener “Ready” is an intense battlecry, as vocalist Greg Falchetto shouts “I’ll walk this life the way I choose / I hold my own.” Pelbu of UK heavy hardcore band Knuckledust lends his pipes, upping the track’s menacing delivery.

The guests don’t stop there, as “So True To My Own” features vocals from Jem Siow (Speed) and Taylor Young (Disgrace, Twitching Tongues). The Theo Sicurella directed video for the track finds Hold My Own making their way around Chicago before playing a show at Subterranean, with a little help from Siow, End It, and Angel Du$t.

Closer “Slip” finds Hold My Own taking control of that aforementioned classic formula, with plenty of parts for two-step, call back vocals, and excellent cymbal use.

On the release, guitarist Anchit Chhabra shares: “As the band continues to grow and evolve, our mission remains the same. Representing hardcore to the grave. This is what this 7″ is about.”

The EP was engineered, recorded & mixed by Andy Nelson at Bricktop in Chicago, IL with main vocal engineered & recorded by Taylor Young at The Pit in Van Nuys, CA.

Hold My Own is Gregory Falchetto (vocals), Anchit Chhabra (guitar/vocals), Kashish Chhabra (bass), and Sergio Mendoza (drums).
