“Printed Matter” is a new, DIY series by SINGLE MOTHERS that combines paper-based works with live recordings in hand printed packaging. Each set is limited to a very small edition, and is solely available at shows on specific tours.

Set #1 / Fall 2012 combines six, approximately 11″ x 17″ photocopied posters of photographs taken by, and of, the band on their 2012 North American summer tour. It’s paired with ‘Live from a Bowling Alley in New Jersey’, a CD that features a single 24:32 track of their 27.06.2012 set at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, NJ. Songs included in the set are Blood Pressure, Christian Girls, Nice Dresses, Winter Coats, Overdose, She Likes it Even Though She Says She Hates It, Hell is My Backup Plan & Baby.
Set #1 / Fall 2012 is packaged in a silk screened kraft LP jacket that contains both the prints and the recording. The set’s CD insert is packaged in a silk screened kraft CD jacket that is hand numbered on the verso.
Set #1 / Fall 2012 is limited to 66 copies and will be sold for $10 at all dates on the Title Fight / Pianos Become The Teeth / Single Mothers tour. 2 copies of the set will be available for sale at each of the 33 shows, and will not be sold through the band’s e-store.
Printed Matter exists to be an artifact of life on the road- full of gritty ephemera and field recordings that are honest but far from perfect. Because it was born on the road, it’s only available from the band when they’re on the road.
