GOD MOTHER – “Inga Budskap Kvar” [EP] (2013)
Check out this great crusty, grindy hardcore band from the suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden. This material was recorded in DIY manner with lyrics focusing on political commentary in both Swedish and English and “thoughts on oppresion and insights of the inner self”. This single was released in Summer last year, but GOD MOTHER are about to record their debut full-length after this coming week! Chekc it out, greab their April 2013 EP called “Imitation” from here and get ready for more!
God Mother is the kind of raging grindcore band who seem like they would consider a twenty five minute set to be ‘long’. Their hyper speed grind blasts are nicely contrasted by a mid tempo crush on songs like Imitation. This ends up creating some tasty and fiery grindcore that anyone from goregrind freaks to hardcore kids should be able to enjoy. Whats cool about this groups music is that when it gets going, it really gets going, making the mid tempo build up totally worth it and in fact kind of rewarding. The faster parts are almost reminiscent of Nasum (Which is obviously a good thing) the band simply has that much raw energy pumping through their veins. Yet there are a lot of slightly more musical parts, such as those found on The Guilt which add a lot of flavor to the music. In short, if you’re a grind guy or gal looking for a group who really understand the ferocity of grind yet toss in some more interesting musical elements then God Mother is something you’re going to want to check out. / Two Guys Metal Reviews
