MAKE DO AND MEND have teamed with AV Club to stream their highly anticipated new full length, Don’t Be Long. Due out February 24th via Stay Close in partnership with Rise Records, Don’t Be Long finds MAKE DO AND MEND reinvigorated and sounding better than ever. The album delivers 11 tracks of the band’s trademark blend of driving post-hardcore and powerful alternative with AV Club calling it “a record that shows the bandโs muscular take on Hot Water Musicโs Epitaph-era hasnโt withered with age.”
Though the band formed in Hartford, Connecticut, ย all four members ofย MAKE DO AND MENDย now reside in different states across the country. ย Despite their geographical disconnect,ย the four piece was able to come together to createย Don’t Be Long,ย their third full-length release following 2010’sย End Measured Mileย and 2012’sย Everything You Ever Loved.
Afterย close to a decade of existence,ย 8 studio efforts under their belt, including splits with the likes of Touchรฉย Amorรฉย and The Flatliners, and extensive touring worldwide,ย MAKE DO AND MENDย have channelled all of theirย experience into the makingย ofย Don’t Be Long. The album was recorded byย Nick Bellmore at Dexter’s Lab in Milford, Connecticut, andย Jay Maas at Getaway Records in Haverhill, Massachusetts, as well as mixed by Maas, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Engineering in Portland, Oregon.
Theย Don’t Be Longย delivers 11 songs that showcase the band’s now trademark avidity for creating music endearingly familiar, and yet charmingly elusive.ย Likeย MAKE DO AND MEND‘s career to date,ย Don’t Be Long‘s value is paradoxical. Valuable and yet somehow alien all for it’s unceasing eagerness to provide the listener with something rugged and true.
