After six years of relative silence, Boston hardcore outfit Death Before Dishonor are back with Nowhere Bound, their sixth full-length album, set for release on May 16 via Bridge Nine Records.

The eleven-track record was produced, engineered, and mixed by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed) and recorded across two Massachusetts studios—Rock Valley in Easthampton and Planet-Z in Wilbraham.

Drummer Ben Hilton describes the album as a reflection on the last several years: “Nowhere Bound is a collection of statements and observations that represent our mindset through the past 6 years since our last record. There are familiar themes from past records, like loyalty & friendship, but we also take on entirely new topics for us, like describing what it’s like to maintain your principles as you get older. Whether it’s a song about personal conflict, mental illness, or venting on the state of the world, these are thoughts that cloud our minds until we put pen to paper and address them.”

The band follows February’s single “Overruled” with a new track, “Pushed to the Edge,” which leans into a frantic two-minute burst of frustration and pressure. The song centers around the breaking point theme, with riffs and tempo that nod toward traditional Boston hardcore without veering into nostalgia.

Death Before Dishonor

Death Before Dishonor formed in 2000 and have been releasing music through Bridge Nine since Friends Family Forever (2005). Their 2007 LP Count Me In marked a leap in visibility within the scene, and they continued with Better Ways to Die (2009) and Unfinished Business (2019).

They’ll mark the release of Nowhere Bound with a hometown show at Sonia in Boston on May 18, joined by Missing Link, Shattered Realm, and Street Power. A full U.S. west coast tour with Haywire kicks off in June, wrapping with an appearance at The Rumble in Chicago on June 28. They’re also confirmed for This Is Hardcore in Philadelphia this August.
