Emotional hardcore band LOWER HOLLOW blend melancholia with heaviness on new album “Bloom & Expire”

1 min read

Lower Hollow, a 5-piece hardcore band hailing from South Africa, have released their debut album “Bloom & Expire” via Mongrel Records. The album has already caught the attention of numerous media outlets, including GAMES, BRRRAAAINS & A HEAD-BANGING LIFE, who dubbed it “a debut album that is both creative and crushing.”

During the COVID pandemic, Lower Hollow spent their time behind closed doors refining their sound and creating a powerful source of top-tier intensity and energy. Their music is like a raw wound being ground against a salt mill – it is unyielding and unrelenting. By carving a new path through the remnants of broken ideals, they have caused the world to stand still and take notice, as we all shift our priorities in the face of an uncertain future and the end of an era.

As we ventured on a new path, breaking away from old ideals, the world watched in stillness as we rearranged our priorities, resulting in some losing everything, while others faced the prospect of indefinite change. With an uncertain future, it marks the end of an era.

Frustrated by the demise of former flames, LOWER HOLLOW spent almost two years honing their craft behind closed doors, creating a new sound that would etch itself into history as a potent source of intensity and energy.

Like a raw wound exposed to a salt mill, LOWER HOLLOW’s offering is unyielding and unstoppable. Their debut album, “Bloom & Expire,” emerges from a time of darkness, delivering a combination of fast-paced hardcore, melancholic melodies, and heavy rhythms.

March 31st, 2023 marks the arrival of “Bloom & Expire” on all major streaming platforms, accompanied by a nationwide tour to support the release.
