With their beautifully varied full lenth “ALTER EGO”, French act NO VALE NADA packed a lot into almost 35 minutes of sonic adventure. Bold, compelling, multi-dimensional, and a little exhausting, the record delivered a vivid reflection of the ever-prolific subgenre, and it is our pleasure to recall it with the official premiere of the band’s new music video for their song “Une poignée de Rien”! Produced by Naps Hart, the video can be seen above.
Recorded and mixed by the almighty Amaury Sauvé at The Apiary and mastered by Thibault Chaumont Deviant Lab, “Alter Ego” is out now via Vox Project, Bad Wolf Records, One Wild Collective & Coups de Couteau.
The ALTER / EGO concept deals with the human being in general and details its drifts and problems. There is a certain duality in the disc between dark and luminous pieces. The album was written in the need to spill a certain rage about the world around us but while leaving the freedom to interpret the songs and lyrics in any way. The studio phase provided the contrast and colour that give ALTER / EGO more meaning. The song « UNE POIGNÉE DE RIEN » (« HANDFULL OF NOTHING ») is a perfect example of a luminous piece filled with anger. The video which transcribes all the energy of the sound was made by NAPS HART already author of the first clip for « PLUTÔT CREVER QUE MOURIR »”
