Long Island hardcore outfit, Godseyes, have stepped into the spotlight with their raw and powerful lead single, “Memories in Blue”. This emotionally charged track is just a taste of what to expect from their forthcoming debut full-length record, “Progress//Regress“, set to release on September 8th through No Sleep Records.
“I think for everyone in the band this record is a major feeling of relief. It’s a lot of pent-up feeling both musically and lyrically, and we hope the album can speak for itself in that,” the band shares.
They also hint at the record’s dynamic nature, stating, “Listeners can expect a lot of ups and downs, which was left intentionally.”
Their addition of a second guitarist has expanded the sonic scope of Godseyes’ music, allowing for more layered and textured soundscapes.
According to the band, the whole record is a story, and they hope listeners will connect and resonate with it as much as they did during its creation.
In an era where the Long Island Hardcore scene is flourishing with the likes of bands like Koyo, Standstill, and Foreign Hands, Godseyes is stepping up, ready to put their own stamp on the genre. Their debut LP, “Progress//Regress”, reflects on the constant tug of war between personal and global adversities.
Through its title, lyrical content, and sound, the album embodies themes of procrastination, grief, and uncertainty.
