Hardcore band EXPECTATIONS share thoughts on post-COVID touring; the band hits European roads!

1 min read

Long running Sofia hardcore band EXPECTATIONS are taking their recent album “Heartless, Shallow, and Cruel” on tour in Europe this week! The band hit the road tonight and will be touring until September 25th. See the full itinerary and our special brief interview below.

“Heartless, Shallow and Cruel” just got released on vinyl and the band just released a new video for the song “Eternal Suffering”, including footage from their June shows in Bulgaria.

Asked about the feeling of being back on the road, the band says that it feels amazing. “At some point during the first year of covid we thought that we might never be able to play shows and travel again.” – they admit.

“Actually we didn’t even had any rehearsals for almost a year. But during that time we wrote the majority of songs for the latest album. So the time was not fully wasted.”

“Last year we played a bunch of shows in the summer and then we focused on recording “Heartless, Shallow and Cruel”. This year in June we did a 4-day mini tour around Bulgaria. All shows were amazing – probably some of our best ones yet. It looks like people really dig the new album and it shows in the live shows.”

“There are not as many new bands as we wish, but all recent shows were amazing – not just ours but those of our friends as well. Lots of young kids, lots of energy. Hopefully some of them would start bands soon.”

Asked for more new bands recommendations, EXPECTATIONS gave us a handful of bands to check out this year:

“For the lovers of heavy hc they should check our mates Rugged and Malignant. Pop punk kids should listen to Спални места.”
