Chicago’s Harm’s Way return today with Other World, a two-song EP out now via Closed Casket Activities, also streaming through Metal Blade Records.
The digital release includes the previously unreleased title track and a reimagined version of “Wanderer,” originally featured on the 2023 full-length Common Suffering. The band took full control of the process this time, remixing and producing the material themselves, with King Yosef joining as a collaborator on the second track.
“The track ‘Other World’ was originally recorded during the Common Suffering sessions at Studio 4, but was ultimately held off the album,” Harm’s Way said in a statement. “We revisited and remixed the track ourselves to now be delivered to you.”
The EP pairs the shelved cut with “V.B.Y.S.S.,” a complete rework of “Wanderer.” Harm’s Way describe it as “a proper juxtaposition of who we are creatively as a band, both present and future.” On this version, the band enlisted King Yosef for additional production, leaning into a more textural, possibly experimental revision of the track.
Other World is released in a limited 7″ vinyl format, offered in two jacket designs printed on rainbow mirror board, with deluxe color variants.
The EP’s release aligns with Harm’s Way’s upcoming North American co-headlining tour with Full of Hell, running from May 10 to June 8. The lineup includes additional support from Kruelty, Jarhead Fertilizer, and Clique, with select festival dates such as Sonic Temple, Welcome To Rockville, and Milwaukee Metal Fest. Harm’s Way will also play a handful of solo dates, including Asheville and Columbia.
