IZAH to release Sistere LP on August 31st; full record streaming now!

August 28, 2015
1 min read

Hailing from Tilburg, The Netherlands, IZAH (interviewed for IDIOTEQ in 2013) takes elements of sludge, noise, hardcore and post-rock and blends these into a dark and gloomy mix of heavy riffs, downhearted melodics and densely layered sound dynamics. After having released two EP’s, IZAH played numerous shows with the likes of BARONESS, MONO, CULT OF LUNA, CELESTE, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM and THE OCEAN.

In 2015 IZAH released their debut album Sistere with an album presentation at Roadburn Festival. Sistere, for which the band joined forces with producer Jochem Jacobs (ex-Textures), has become a heartfelt 72 minute long musical narration through darkness and light, hope and despair. In four heavy atmospheric compositions IZAH takes the listener from serene post-rock passages to crushing hardcore grooves, from dark ambient to free form noise and from hypnotising black metal to massive walls of sludge.

Sistere will be released on vinyl (colored heavy weight double LP) on August 31 by Nordvis Produktion.

Zero Tolerance Magazine: 5/6
Astonishingly, this is the band’s debut, and it manages to transcend genres to offer a segueway for fans of hardcore, post-rock, doom and black metal alike.

Angry Metal Guy:
Imagine that The Ocean and Rosetta had been asked to collaborate on Altar of Plagues‘ Mammal and you’ll begin to understand the scope of this album.

The Lair of Filth: 9.5/10
IZAH have conjured up something darkly magical, that continues to improve with each subsequent listen.

Metal Temple: 10/10
Beautifully atmospheric, heavy yet elegantly smooth and musically genius.
