Three months after their recent captivating live session with Gainesville, Florida’s post hardcore act FRAMEWORKS, Puebla, Mexico based “post everything” band JOLIETTE are back with a new 7” via Epidemic Records (Europe and the rest of the world) and Deathwish Inc. (North, Central and South Americas) and a lengthy European trek in June, July and August, and we’re stoked to bring you the exclusive premiere of their new excellent track called “El Alphabiotista”, a work of lyrical honesty, intense delivery, and balance, that struggles against the shackles of the genre.
Here’s what the band told us about the new track:
El Alphabiotista is our new track. It’s part of our yet untitled new album to be released later on this year. The lyrics, (which have no relation with the song title) talk about fear of death, paranoia dealing with constantly traveling and feeling chased by tragedy at anytime and overall the sad feeling that is growing older and witnessing all our loved ones fade away.
Pre-orders for the new JOLIETTE 7” EP kick off today, May 9th, and you can already secure your copy via Epidemic or Deathwish. The official street date is May 31st (digital) and June 19th (physical copies).
The band is gearing up for a very long European tour, to start on June 1, which includes appearances at festivals such as Fluff Fest, Exit Festival, Downpour Zine Fest, SwampFestas, Jena Open Air, FFUD Fest, Sick As We Are Fest, CMAR Fest and shows with Birds In Row, Clowns, Bastos, Rutka Laskier, Carnero, June Paik, Amygdala, Loma Prieta and more. Some dates are still available. Promoters can get in touch with Flix Agency at [email protected].

joliette from Puebla, Mexico describe their music as “post-everything” with intricate compositions that bring together influences from post-hardcore, metal, math rock, and other subgenres of punk, in a way that balances fierceness with delicacy. The band members commitment towards the band is reflected on both their relentless touring schedule and their hectic and passionate live show.
The band’s sound has evolved from their first two EPs, Convertirse en Agua (2011) and Voltean/Están Felices (2013), which helped them to grow a solid fanbase, through their impressive debut LP Principia (2013), to their hardest release yet, Atáxico (2016), a record that conveys a more aggressive sound and outspoken lyrics that deal with anger and frustration. The band is currently promoting Atáxico, which has been released on vinyl, CD, and cassette by the record label Pobre Diablo.
