Louisville GREYHAVEN share anguished new track “Ornaments From The Well”

Louisville, KY band GREYHAVEN shared their chilling new single and visualizer “Ornaments From The Well“. The song will appear on the bands upcoming album “This Bright and Beautiful World” set for release April 15th on Rude Records/Equal Vision Records.

“Ornaments From The Well” highlights a continued shift into a new era of the band, evoking a mix of anguished alt-rock and post-hardcore punctuated by moments of raw brutality.

The new song is the 10th and final track of the album, and a fitting conclusion to the bands most emotive release yet. Serpentine riffs permeate the song, building a sinister tension that helps the bands distinct melodic sensibilities shine.

The lyrics are stark and brooding, adding a palpable sense of darkness to the track that is punctuated by the swirling accompany visualizer.

Speaking on the theme of the song, singer Brent Mills had this to say: “Last song on the record. First and only song I had finished lyrics for when we left for the studio. I didn’t realize it would set the tone for the record as far as the theme goes but this song really showed me where I was and what to lean into when writing the rest of the songs.

The song is purely about depression and sinking headfirst into what feels like endless hell. I really didn’t think I could keep going at the time but somehow here I am and that’s where this song comes from.”

With two records under their belt (Cult America and Empty Black), the band began writing “This Bright and Beautiful World” utilizing classic Greyhaven chaotic energy. Having written this record in 5 different locations, the band wanted to make sure that all of their ideas were able to present themselves once they entered the studio with producer Will Putney at Graphic Nature Audio.

Taking pride in simply being “4 guys who like to play music”, Greyhaven left with a diverse 10 songs that dive into themes of frustration, depression, the inability to fully express yourself, and appreciating the darker parts of life even though that may seem impossible at times.

“This Bright and Beautiful World” is available for pre-order now.

Greyhaven is Brent Mills (vocals), Nick Spencer (guitar), Johnny Muench (bass) and Ethan Spray (drums)
