Metal hardcore sludgers KAVRILA share new video for the song “Sunday”

1 min read

Rituals III, out March 26, 2021 via Narshardaa Records, is the spawn of KAVRILA’s rage, anxiety, gloom, self doubt, pure energy, and grit. A vicious beast that crawls out of a pool of darkness, and suffering that has a hold on the world around us, that we are constantly fighting to overcome.

With a premiere via Visions Magazine the band is out today with a new video for their latest single Sunday. Visions notes: “The song “Sunday” is – apart from the relaxed intro – a cracking cross between hardcore punk and sludge metal, as one is used to from the Hamburg band. The gloom of the video is also reflected in the music and the lyrics of the song: “Supposed to be the best time/ Turns out to be the day I die”.

Alex from Kavrila comments: “Supposed to be the best time. Turns out to be the day I die.” This line sums up this song pretty good. It was a Sunday back in 2018 when I had a massive anxiety attack while I was performing on stage. I will never forget this moment and the night that follows this event. It changed me forever.”

Rituals III is the third, and final installment of the Rituals series that was started back in 2016. The record will be released on 12″ vinyl and in addition, the whole Rituals cycle, containing all three EPs will be available as a discography CD. Expect an energetic and powerful mix of Hardcore, Sludge, Metal and Doom, reduced to the essentials.

The end of the trilogy may be the sign of something even more sinister coming from Kavrila in the near future. Pre-order Rituals III on limited edition vinyl here.
