“My Better Half +2” – new EP from hearty punk rockers BREAK TO BROKEN streaming

1 min read

Post punk tinged punk rock trio BREAK TO BROKEN have revealed the full stream of their new release dubbed “My Better Half +2”. The EP comprises three new songs and is currently accessible on all major streaming platforms.

Formed in 2020, the multi-continental group has been attracting attention due to their distinctive collaborative dynamic and their lively retro-inspired sound. “My Better Half +2” begins with a unique rendition of an obscure track by One Last Wish, a now-defunct band from the iconic Dischord label.

“We all love the One Last Wish record, 1986, and since we also sourced our band name from it we thought it would be great to attempt a cover,” says singer and guitarist, Clinton Maher. “Like our first release, it’s fully DIY – recorded and mixed by us at our houses.”

The EP also includes the new track, “Sorry, Not Sorry,” an original banger from the writing sessions of their first album that the band revisited and finalized. They close things out with Eli Nowak’s emotional and somber acoustic version of “On The Beat,“ a song originally featured on their 2022 LP, The War on Sparrows.

With “My Better Half +2”, BREAK TO BROKEN continue to transcend physical limitations and produce some solid sounding material. To listen to “My Better Half +2”, visit www.breaktobroken.com or streaming platforms such as BandCamp, Spotify, or Apple Music.

Break To Broken

BREAK TO BROKEN formed in October of 2020 during a global pandemic which left the world in an isolating lockdown.

Aussie, Clinton Maher, was looking for like-minded collaborators to help pull through his vision for a new music project. A post on a message board connected him with Eli Nowak and Justin Rauschkolb, both veterans of the late 90’s New Jersey punk scene, and the trio was formed. In spite of living on opposite sides of the globe, the three forged an instant musical bond and began to collaborate on songs.

Their debut album, The War on Sparrows (Ripcord Records, Engineer Records) delivers 12 songs ranging from ripping post punk/hardcore to introspective, almost dreamy, indie rock. The individual style, vocals, and lyrics of each member merge throughout the album, creating a unique sonic connection through a virtual collaboration.
