RACE, GENDER AND PRIVILEGE IN LEFTIST COMMUNITIES AND IN HARDCORE PUNK
Facilitated by Anna Vo (First World Problem, “Fix My Head” zine)
1.5 – 2 hours
Political and cultural history is recorded and written by dominant cultures, and as a result it is not commonly known that Anarchism has Eastern roots, and “punk” started in 1977 in various continents, outside of the UK and USA. This workshop runs through some examples of non-Western, non-white origins of both subcultures, and moves onto a discussion/workshop about how assumptions about continuing a “white”, male, hetero, middle-class dominated environment means making other, marginalised groups invisible. This workshop outlines how socially, politically and historically, certain communities are invisibilised or excluded.
FEMINIST ECONOMICS, A WORKSHOP
Gender perspective in economics for activists, which are not necessary aware of economics. Accessible way of presentation (case – studies, movies excerpts, discussions) of topics related to women’s role in home/country/world economy, private and public space. Current issues and reflection on alternatives.
First block 1,5h – would be an introduction to economics and feminist economics, among others: notion of feminist economics, it’s origins, different types of economies and women’s (in)visibility, care economics and reproduction.
Second block 1,5h – would be dedicated to global economy among others: international institutions, value and money, indicators, division of goods, poverty, migration, feminist critique and alternatives.

Die Noc Walpurgii findet seit 1996 in Warschau statt.
Dieses Jahr wird es das Festival das zweite Mal
in Berlin geben. Unser Ziel ist es, Sexismus und
Homophobie eine Absage zu erteilen und unabhängige
DIY-Kultur zu stärken!
The Noc Walpurgii festival started in 1996 in Warsaw, Poland, and is organized every two years. It was a pioneering event in Poland which took up about such issues like the struggle against sexism and homophobia and the promotion of girl-fronted bands and activities.
Since 2012 it’s being organized in Berlin.
