NY IN 64 (members of YOU AND I, EAST OF THE WALL) streaming debut LP on Magic Bullet Records in full!

May 25, 2017
1 min read

New Jersey-based instrumental outfit NY IN 64 — formed by members of 1990s screamo act You And I, and prog metal troupe East Of The Wall — will release their second album, The Gentle Indifference Of The Night, through Magic Bullet Records tomorrow.ย Decibel Magazine is now streaming the entire LP, the accompanying write-up noting below. Stream the record HERE scroll down to watch their new video for the LP’s intense “Couldn’t Be Saved”!

“A textured and dynamic album, NY IN 64 combine hardcore, progressive rock and post-rock elements to create an album that stands on its own without vocals. NY IN 64 have evolved from their first, self-titled album, delving further into the fusion of raw hardcore and refined post-rock sounds, creating heavier riffs but also bigger hooks and melodies. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself humming along throughout your day.”

In conjunction with the LP’s release, NY IN 64 has booked a record release weekend, which sees them playing Flemington, New Jersey on release day tomorrow, followed with a show in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday, closing the jaunt with a show in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday. Additional tour dates will be booked in the weeks ahead.

5/27/2017 Psychic Readings – Providence, RI

More about the band:

The follow-up to 2015’s self-titled debut documents NY IN 64 pushing their sonic template to new heights, realizing an even more refined and uniquely inspired style of instrumental hardcore aggression. The hooks are bigger, the musicianship has broken through the ceiling, the dynamics are deeper and far more textured. The album’s guitars and bass were recorded by Chris Alfano at Volume Fact, the drums and additional guitars recorded by John Ferrara at Portrait Recording Studios. The record was mixed by Scott Evans at Antisleep Audio, and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East, and its layout completed with photography by Justin Hock and layout by the band and Brent Eyestone. With six new movements, The Gentle Indifference Of The Night is a triumph of an album that truly sounds like no other.
