OAK

We’re incredibly proud to reveal or debut album ‘Oak’, available online and on 12″ vinyl. We’ve been working on this record for a really long time and are all very pleased with how it turned out. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by the genious Ulf Blomberg (Grace.Will.Fall, Hoborec). The artwork is made by our friend Daniel Liljedahl (murderofcrows). The record overall is purely what we’re all about – intense, chaotic hardcore with math and screamo influences and I hope you will enjoy it.

I’d also like to take this moment to say something about my favourite track of the album – ‘Chapter I: Roots’. I wrote the lyrics for this song last summer after taking part in a march for refugee rights here in Sweden. There I met a young man from Afghanistan, who had just applied for asylum for a third time. Between the applications he lived hidden in Sweden for 8 years and managed to escape from a refugee prison once. But eventually he got worn out from living such an insecure life and applied once again, and faced deportation during the march. Now he’s living hidden in Iran because of the insecure situation for Hazara people in Afghanistan. This man is in no way an exceptation who fell through the chairs, but is just one of too many people who are being forced to hide or face deportations back to poverty or war, after risking their lives entering Fort Europe. It is about time we all do what we can to stop this. Protest, help a hidden refugee family in your town or support a refugee rights organization.
