OATHBREAKER release “Ease Me (Jesu Remix)”

March 17, 2020
1 min read

Post metallers OATHBREAKER have unveiled the first new mix off their new EP “Ease Me & 4 Interpretations“, slated for a premiere on May 8th via Deathwish Inc. The new offering is an outstanding collaboration with JESU, British experimental band formed in 2003 by Justin Broadrick following the 2002 breakup of his band Godflesh.

Oathbreaker return with their latest release “Ease Me”. Recorded by Michael Neyt at Jetson and later mixed and mastered by Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden, the song is a near perfect Oathbreaker creation. Continuing their evolution as one the most intriguing heavy bands out there today.

The song was initially released as part of the Adult Swim’s “Metal Swim 2” compilation in 2019. The track now sees a proper physical release along with diverse remixes/reinterpretations from incredible artists Jesu, Chelsea Wolfe, Wife, and Michael A. Muller. Adding new dimensions of sound to the richly emotional track.

Lyrics:

She had a dream
Moonlight shining down on her face
Drifting wildly
Trusting the water would take her

Let me run far away to ease my pain
Let me forever change the shape I’m in
and I’ll keep telling myself I tried

I pulled my roots with my bare hands
and planted them in fertile grounds
The perfect sun shines and I cry

Let me run far away to ease my pain
Let me forever change the shape I’m in
and I’ll keep telling myself I tried

I have never come this far alone
Please don’t let me go home
