Philadelphia hardcore pack DRILL SERGEANT unleashes unrelenting fusion of intensity and fury on new EP “Grim New Year”

1 min read

Hailing from Philadelphia, DRILL SERGEANT returns with a powerful new 7″ release, building on the momentum of their “Vile Ebb” LP on Convulse Records. Comprising members from Fixation, Fluoride, and Stud Count, the band was established just before the COVID-19 lockdown and has persisted amid looming threats of a potential World War III.

This raw, resounding gem embodies the anger and frustration stemming from our current reality.

Drawing influences from early 80’s Boston and NYHC, as well as West Coast powerviolence powerhouses like Infest and Crossed Out, DRILL SERGEANT delivers fast, aggressive hardcore. The four songs on this release exhibit a breathtaking, unrelenting fusion of intensity and fury.

A grim new war lurks just around the corner – brace yourself for the new reality.

Trevor Vaughan (XfilesX, Wound Man) lends additional vocals to “Cries for Justice.” The record was mixed by Zach Miller of Landmine Studios and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios. Grab it via Refuse Records.

DRILL SERGEANT is embarking on a European tour from September 10th to 26th. Don’t miss the chance to experience their raw intensity and powerful hardcore sound as they take the stage across Europe. Stay tuned for more details, coming soon via Refuse Records.
